International Paramedics Day

Radio EMS Interviews with Rory and Megan

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

Radio EMS has been a committed and passionate partner of International Paramedics Day since last year, when the College of Paramedics launched the inaugural event on July 8, 2022.

Since that time, International Paramedics Day has grown hugely in its reach and countries such as Ecuador, Tanzania and Taiwan are now celebrating International Paramedics Day with us on July 8 each year. Not only that but the number of our partners have more than doubled in the last 12 months, no doubt helped by the support and promotion of Radio EMS which is listened to in 98 countries and the only radio broadcaster dedicated to EMS and First Responder professionals.

Once again, to mark International Paramedics Day, Radio EMS has carried out interviews with those at the very heart of the day – paramedics.

For this year’s event, Radio EMS broadcaster, Gordon Bates talks to Rory O’Connor, Chair of the Paramedic Council for the College of Paramedics and an Advanced Paramedic in Primary Care, based in Northern Ireland, and Megan Durling, a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service. Prior to starting with the service in 2021, Megan was studying for her Paramedic Science degree at St George’s University of London.
